Over two years ago, we teamed up with @hans_cosmas_ngoteya, #NationalGeographicExplorer, to put kit on the ground across Africa with our VI Kit Hubs.

Less freight. Less emissions. But really the bigger thing for us is what happens when productions stop flying everything in and start focusing on working with the people already there...local crew, local knowledge, and local rental economy.

Spent the morning at Fulwood Meadow recently watching 9 bales of silage come in from about an acre of land that's been farmed regeneratively.

It's easy to talk about sustainable farming. Watching it actually work is something else.

The soil looks different. The field sounds different. More insects, more movement. It's not abstract. 🐌🦋🐝

We've been growing our own meadow at VI Rental and planting trees to offset the footprint of the kit we hire out — partly because we work with a lot of people who care about this stuff, and partly because we're based here and this is our patch.

We are proud our PTZ multicam department partners with the Sidemen — YouTube’s mega group with over 20 million subscribers. For their latest shoot, we deployed 16 state-of-the-art PTZ cameras, all controlled remotely from our pop up gallery on location. Installed and operated by our expert team.

All feeds from the PTZ cameras were routed through the Blackmagic Constellation, allowing us to switch and record video inputs effortlessly across multiple monitors.

This time, the Sidemen filmed a high-stakes hide-and-seek style game featuring KSI navigating the mansion and gaining power-ups, including exclusive access to a CCTV room, which is the PTZ viewing area!

Last week we attended @bbc to watch a demo of #Caerus – the world’s first wheelchair based camera system.

It is designed to empower people with disabilities, aspiring to work within the TV & Film sector.

It’s all terrain and can easily handle travelling over sand or gravel, all whilst giving you Steadicam level image stabilisation.

With a top speed of 24 kmph and a range of 25 km, the camera system enables you to be on set all day.

1,950 Trees and Counting 🌿 👏 💚

We’re proud to share the progress of our Plant-a-Tree scheme, an initiative designed to offset the carbon footprint of our rentals while supporting the regeneration of the UK's declining temperate rainforest.

So far, we’ve planted 1,950 native trees, helping to absorb approximately 31,200kg of CO₂—that’s the equivalent of powering a typical shoot for 156 days.

For us, this is more than just planting trees, it's about restoring vital ecosystems, capturing carbon, and investing in a greener future for our industry and our planet.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Dave Bennett’s passing yesterday. Although Dave had been unwell for quite some time, his loss still comes as a shock to everyone at Visuals and his many friends in the industry.

Despite his ill health, Dave remained a regular visitor to our Bristol office and was always generous in sharing his vast knowledge with new staff. He will be greatly missed.
